What checks should you do before riding?
Before every ride, take 30 seconds for a quick check. These simple steps can save you from a lot of trouble on the road.
Safety guidelines
Make sure you have read and follow the safety guidelines available here.
Brakes
Squeeze each brake lever individually. They should feel firm and not touch the handlebars. If a lever feels soft or doesn't brake properly, do not ride — contact Torks.
Wheel tightness
Some models have quick-release wheels. If your bike has them, check that the quick-release levers on both the front and rear wheels are properly closed and locked. A loose wheel can come off while riding — this is a critical safety point.

Tyres
Visually check that the tyres are properly inflated and free of cuts, cracks, or embedded objects. An under-inflated tyre increases the risk of a puncture and reduces battery range.
Lights
Turn the bike on and check that both the front light and rear light are working. In Switzerland, lights are required at all times.
Battery
Glance at the charge level shown on the display. Make sure you have enough range for your ride. It's recommended to keep the battery as charged as possible — the fuller it is, the more powerful the pedal assist.
Lock and battery
Before setting off, make sure the battery is securely locked into the frame and that the lock is not attached to the wheel or frame.
