How do I adjust the saddle position?
Adjusting the bike to your size
Before hitting the road, take a few minutes to adjust your bike. Proper setup improves comfort, pedalling efficiency, and helps prevent aches and pains. You will find the Allen keys (also known as hex keys) you need in your accessory pouch.
Saddle height
This is the most important adjustment. Most bikes are equipped with a quick-release lever at the base of the seat post:
- Open the lever by pulling it outwards.
- Adjust the height: while sitting on the saddle, place your heel on the pedal at its lowest position. Your leg should be fully extended. When you pedal normally with the ball of your foot, your knee will remain slightly bent — this is the ideal position.
- Close the lever firmly. It should resist and leave an impression on the palm of your hand. Make sure the seat post is secure and does not move.
Note: If the lever is too tight or too loose, adjust the tension by turning the adjustment bolt on the clamp.
Horizontal saddle position
You can slide the saddle forwards or backwards on its rails to find the right position:
- Using an Allen key, slightly loosen the bolt located under the saddle, at the rail clamp.

- Slide the saddle forwards or backwards. As a general rule, when the pedal is horizontal (at the 3 o'clock position), your knee should be directly above the pedal axle.
- Tighten the bolt securely.
Note: Make sure the saddle is properly aligned and secure before riding.
Saddle tilt
The same bolt under the saddle also allows you to adjust the tilt:
- Slightly loosen the bolt under the saddle.
- Tilt the saddle forwards or backwards using the serrated teeth designed to hold the chosen angle. A flat (horizontal) position suits most riders. A slight forward tilt may be more comfortable for some.
- Tighten the bolt firmly.
Note: Test the tilt to find a comfortable position, avoiding an excessive forward or backward angle.
Replacing the saddle
You are free to replace the saddle with one better suited to your needs, but the bike must be returned with the original saddle provided by Torks. Here is how to proceed:
- Follow the steps described for the horizontal position or tilt adjustment (unscrew the bolt under the saddle with the Allen key).
- Remove the saddle by sliding it off the rails.
- Install the new saddle by inserting the rails into the clamp mechanism.
- Tighten the bolt firmly to secure the new saddle.
Important: Keep the original saddle in good condition so you can refit it before returning the bike.
