Join the "Mobilités Actives" challenge in June and receive a public transport pass!

Who will dare to give up their car for a month and try other ways of getting around? Next June, ATE, Torks, transN and the City are challenging the residents of La Chaux-de-Fonds.

La Chaux-de-Fonds, 19 March 2026 — First organised in September 2025, the challenge is being run again this year in June. It is open to working and retired people living in La Chaux-de-Fonds and aims to change drivers' habits while helping them get around easily.

For short distances, it is often faster to walk, cycle or use public transport, yet taking the car remains a reflex. For many reasons, such as health, a sense of freedom, the desire for change, a chosen form of self-limitation, lower costs, faster travel or environmental concerns, more and more people want to test new forms of mobility. What they sometimes lack is the push needed to take the first step. The "Mobilités Actives" challenge provides that opportunity.

When signing up for the challenge, participants receive a monthly ONDE VERTE 2-zone pass, or the equivalent value in public transport, with the Junior card for children available as an option, which is new this year. If they are interested, they can also receive a monthly subscription for an electric bike from Torks or Velospot.

At the end of the challenge, a prize draw will be organised with attractive prizes to be won, including an annual ONDE VERTE 2-zone pass offered by transN.

Participation conditions

• Live in La Chaux-de-Fonds and own a car.
• Agree not to use it during June 2026.
• Try alternative ways of getting around: walking, cycling, public transport, and more.
• Keep an anonymous logbook and send it to the organisers by 10 July 2026.

Registration

Registration is open on www.ate-ne.ch from 19 March until 6 May 2026. For organisational reasons, only a limited number of people can take part, so interested residents are encouraged to register quickly.

It is also worth noting that the 2025 edition of the challenge was presented by Torks at the final of the "Décarbone ta boîte" competition on 13 March in Neuchâtel. The project received the Prix Viteos, awarded by public vote, highlighting the interest in this kind of local initiative in support of modal shift.
